At the time of construction, this 400 seat lecture hall was the largest of its kind in Port Elizabeth. Extensive research was carried out into the practical and technical requirements, and careful analysis of the historical and operational context of the campus and the surrounding buildings inspired the siting, forms and materials of the design. The result is a building which not only fulfills its function as a technologically advanced lecture hall, but also contributes on a macro scale to the successful operation and future development of the University campus.
